September 2021. AS520 units deployed in Air Quality Study in China

An air quality study carried out by the University of Cambridge (Department of Chemistry) has deployed 60 AS520 personal air quality monitors from Atmospheric Sensors Ltd. in a study of personal exposure to airborne pollution  in Beijing. The study found “substantial differences “ between real levels of personal pollution exposure and that inferred from traditional, fixed air monitoring equipment.  The study equipped a cohort of 251 participants in Beijing (urban and ‘peri-urban’) with a new, light-weight personal air quality monitor (PAM) and monitored their daily activity and commutes “in a way that has not been possible before.”

A full account of the study have been reported in

Journal of Exposure Science and Environmental Epidemiology  2020 vol. 30, 981-989.
